What You Can and Cannot Put in a Roll-Off Dumpster

A plain-language list of accepted debris and the prohibited items that carry fines in Colorado.

Accepted in a standard mixed load

Household junk, furniture, carpet, cabinetry, drywall, lumber, siding, roofing (in a dedicated can), non-freon appliances, toys, clothing, packaging and general construction debris all load normally.

Never accepted

Wet paint, solvents, motor oil, fuel, pesticides, pool chemicals, asbestos, medical waste, ammunition, batteries and pressurized tanks are prohibited. Tires, mattresses, electronics and freon-bearing appliances are accepted only with prior notice and a surcharge.

Why the rules exist

Transfer stations screen incoming loads. A single prohibited container can cause a load rejection, meaning the debris comes back to your property and you pay for the round trip. Telling us upfront is always cheaper.

How to handle the gray areas

Dried latex paint with the lid off is generally fine; liquid is not. Adams County and Denver both run household hazardous waste drop-off programs that take the items we cannot legally haul.
